Bogdanora is a small community of Sevipers, south of the river Cel and Ĉielogxejo. Its feud with the northern community has gone on for centuries, dominating its culture and attitudes.

History[]

The tribe has existed for around four centuries; despite attacks from Zangeese, they were able to colonize the land thanks in no small part to the leadership of Bogdan, a shiny Seviper. Ultimately giving his life in the battles, he became the namesake of their colony - Bogdan's burrow - and is believed to return whenever the tribe will once again need his guidance.

Culture[]

Bogdanoran culture places a heavy emphasis on cleverness and cunning; although most of them make a point to be ready for any physical altercation with Zangeese, they consider it much more sensible to fight with indirect means before putting themselves in danger. Over the years, this mentality has led to something of a haughty streak among the Sevipers of the tribe, the nobility in particular, and has been responsible for more than a few instances of infighting among supposed allies.

Nonetheless, the Sevipers do not forget their true enemies, and they would much rather back down gracefully than allow any petty bickering to endanger Bogdanora.

Geography[]

Very little of Bogdanora is visible from the outside, appearing to be little more than several caves leading into a mountain. Entering those caves, however, reveals the truth: a sprawling expanse of tunnels and rooms leading throughout the entire mountain. While the corridors are large enough to accommodate most any species of Pokémon, anyone who is not a part of the tribe is very likely to get lost in the mazelike system, and the Sevipers are quite used to having to give directions. At the top of the mountain, several open spaces have been carved out; some are used for meetings and rites, while others are used to growing crops that cannot be grown elsewhere in Bogdanora.

The staple crop of the tribe is without a doubt Persim berries; the tactic of healing their confusion after having an ally use Swagger on them has lasted through the generations.

Leadership[]

The main leadership of the tribe comes from descendants of Bogdan, or his most recent reincarnation; power is passed down through the eldest child, with branch lines holding a smaller amount of power. When a reincarnation of Bogdan arrives, power is quickly shifted to them, and the cycle repeats.

With their cultural emphasis on cunning and strategy, nominal power is considered an afterthought; roles and titles may be a point of pride, but they are far from definitive on what influence a Seviper can have.

Its current leader, believed to be one of Bogdan's reincarnations, has only taken the position relatively recently.
